Born in China, raised in Ohio, and educated in Tokyo, Shaun Wu is an actor of Chinese descent based in Los Angeles.
After getting his Bachelors in International Business from Sophia University in Tokyo, he worked in finance at Goldman Sachs in both Tokyo and New York. After five years of interpreting the ups and downs of the stock market and taking his first ever acting class at HB Studios in New York, he realized he wanted to interpret the stories of people. He was accepted into the prestigious MFA acting program at Harvard University (A.R.T Institute) and graduated in 2016 after two and half years of training. He also studied at the Moscow Art Theater in Russia for a semester as part of the MFA program.
Shaun has produced and co-written several short films. He produced, wrote, and starred in his first film Jeff (2019), which was selected for screening in the Cinema Diverse: Palm Springs Film Festival. Film and television credits include Deadly Illusions with Kristin Davis (Netflix) and Step Up: High Water (Starz).
In his free time, he works as a Mandarin and Japanese translator, drinks lots of coffee, and surfs on a regular basis.
