STATEMENT

My work focuses on the themes of race and identity, immigrant family dynamics, sexuality/power, and isolation.

Having been brought up in a Chinese household in America and sandwiched between American culture and Chinese culture, I have always struggled with my identity. I lost my own power and the ability to stand up for myself as a result of this struggle. My work explores characters who try to find their own identities, their place in society, and their own empowerment.
